Abstract

On January 1942, a secret meeting of high-ranking representatives of the SS, the government, and the NSDAP was held in a villa in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee. The purpose of the conference was the coordination of the “final solution of the Jewish question.” Under the leadership of Heydrich, the participants planned the systematic destruction of about eleven million European Jews in the conquered territories of the East.
