Abstract
The constricting and uncomfortable aspects of nineteenth-century women’s clothing were epitomized by the corset. Dress reform, which arose from criticism of Victorian clothing, led to more comfortable garments, which were simpler in design and fabric. Here, women enjoy their new, less constricting garments at a small gathering in Berlin.
