Abstract

Berlin's “Federal Ribbon” [Band des Bundes] is an architectural ensemble forming a linkage across the river Spree in the heart of Berlin, symbolically connecting East and West and the executive and legislative offices. The parliamentary offices and the chancellery, examples of modern architecture, were built after German unification and the 1991 decision for Berlin as the country’s seat of government.
