Abstract

The photograph shows U.S. President Bill Clinton (left) and Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (right) being greeted by schoolchildren in front of Cologne’s Museum Ludwig, the venue of the 1999 G-8 Summit. The deliberations focused on expanding the architecture of the international financial system in order to prevent future financial crises.
