Abstract

On the left is a model of a threshing machine (c. 1885) similar to the one painted by Carl Wilhelm Christian Malchin. The model was constructed in 1962–63 by Hermann Ranft, who used wood, iron, brass, and imitation leather. The machine is connected to a steam locomotive on the right, also by Ranft.
