Abstract

North German church musician and composer Michael Jacobi (1618-1663) is best known for his collaboration with Lutheran pastor and poet Johann Rist. This song is taken from Das friedewünschende Teutschland [Peace-Wishing Germany], a drama Rist published in 1649 for which Jacobi wrote the music.
