Abstract

This woodcut was published in Liber Chronicarum, one of the best-known printed books of the era. It shows the Holy Roman emperor among the four temporal (Bohemia, Palatinate, Saxony, and Brandenburg) and three spiritual (Mainz, Cologne, and Trier) royal electors; below them are the princes, bishops, abbots, nobles, and envoys of the Imperial cities.
