Abstract

This painting by Anton von Werner (1843–1915) appears to be based on a sketch entitled Bismarck in the Reichstag, which was dated December 1, 1885. From 1871 onward, Bismarck wore his Cuirassier uniform whenever he appeared in the Reichstag and at most other public events in Berlin.
