Abstract
This illustration based on a drawing by Artur Nikutowski was published not long after the Battle of Königgrätz (July 3, 1866) in the popular family journal Die Gartenlaube. It accompanied an article by Georg Hiltl titled “Recollections from the German War of 1866,” in which the author describes what he saw on the battlefield at Königgrätz (Chlum) after fighting had ceased.
