Abstract

Here, a group of lower-middle-class children, who were probably part of an organized day-care group, can be seen in front of a row of houses in the Borsigwalde district of Berlin. Borsigwalde was a new community. It was developed in the late 1890s on the fallow Dalldorf Heaths for employees of the Borsig machine and locomotive factory.
