Abstract

Large colorful canvases with mysterious characters and invented settings—the monumental paintings of the artist Neo Rauch have triumphed on the international art market for many years now. This clip by Deutsche Welle examines his work on occasion of the painter’s fiftieth birthday in 2010. Two exhibitions, one in Munich and one in Leipzig, highlighted this event.
