Abstract

This map shows the results of the Reichstag elections of July 30, 1878. It was appended to a diplomatic report from the Austro-Hungarian envoy [Gesandter] to Saxony, Baron Rüdiger von Biegeleben, sent to Austro-Hungarian Foreign Minister Count Gyula Andrássy, August 31, 1878. It appears the envoy used a dark red ink to emphasize the six Saxon Reichstag constituencies (including Dresden) won by Social Democrats in 1878.
